Sue was a passionate primary school teacher of a large multicultural school in Newport for twenty three years teaching across a range of year groups.

During her early years teaching, she was part of the science team linked with the LEA, which introduced Cognitive Accelerated Science Education.

She was also involved with a STEM project which created superb enthusiasm and curiosity for older children engaging with a team of real life polar explorers.

Sue will be more recognised through her support of EAL children working for the Gwent Ethnic Minority services which helped her to gain a diploma in TEAL (Teaching English as an Additional Language) This involved visiting many schools throughout Newport, Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly.

She is very keen to encourage every primary school across Newport and Torfaen, to access their Edina Trust funding, to help stimulate children’s curiosity with the world they live in.
